Electrosurgery vs traditional lancet-based surgery.

Electrosurgery is the application of a high-frequency (Rf) alternating polarity, electrical current to biological tissue as a means to cut, coagulate, dessicate, or fulgurate tissue particle.

ESU’s (Electrosurgical unit), by contrast, uses radio frequency (RF) alternating current to heat the tissue by RF induced oscillation at a frequency more than 300 KHz of molecules that results in increase of temperature and produce heating to a certain level which produces heat to the tissue, instantaneous cell death occurs.

In fact, ESUs are used in more than 80 percent of all surgical procedures, including veterinary.

Advance Microcontroller based ESU

The difference between Scalpel based surgery and Modern day ESU (Electrosurgery) is traditional surgery causes a heavy blood loss and electrosurgery prevents the patient from excessive bleeding which can cause a big impact. Reduced risk of hemorrhaging and a precise surgery which helps in quick recovery.

Medichem Electronics Pvt Ltd has been Manufacturing (Brand MEDILAP), designing and developing using advance micro controller based technology for the last twenty years.

RF electrosurgery is performed using a Surgical Diathermy) (also referred to as an electrosurgical unit or ESU) and a handpiece including one or two electrodes, a monopolar or bipolar instrument and accessories. All RF electrosurgery is bipolar so the difference between monopolar and bipolar instruments is that monopolar instruments comprise only one electrode while bipolar instruments include both electrodes in their design.
