INFANT RADIANT WARMER – TECHNOLOGY

The MEDILAP Infant Radiant Warmer is a state-of-the-art neonatal care device engineered to provide precise thermal regulation, safety, and advanced monitoring for newborns in critical care. Designed with cutting-edge technologies, the warmer supports clinicians in delivering optimal neonatal care from the very first moments of life.

PER- Power Efficiency Ratio

The MEDILAP Radiant Warmer features a PER of 96, signifying its ability to deliver maximum thermal performance with minimal power consumption. This ensures reliable operation even in power-constrained settings while minimizing heat loss and energy waste.

Infrared Ceramic Heating Technology

MEDILAP Radiant Warmer uses infrared ceramic heating elements that deliver uniform, focused heat directly to the infant’s body while keeping ambient temperature lower to prevent dehydration. Ceramic technology ensures faster warm-up, longer life, and energy-efficient performance compared to traditional quartz bulbs.

Over-Temperature Protection System

For added safety, the warmer is equipped with a triple-layered protection system:

  • Audible/Visual Alarms: Alerts for over-temperature, probe disconnection, or system faults.

  • Automatic Shutoff: Deactivates heater to prevent overheating.

  • Backup Thermostat: Provides a final safety cut-off if all digital controls fail.

Microprocessor-Based Servo Control System

The warmer is powered by an advanced Microprocessor-Based Servo Control that provides precise thermal regulation by continuously monitoring and adjusting the heating element based on real-time feedback from the skin temperature sensor.

Key Functions Include:

  • Skin Mode (Servo Mode): Maintains newborn’s body temperature at the preset value by adjusting radiant heat automatically.

  • Manual Mode: Allows the caregiver to control heating intensity directly.

  • Pre-Warm Mode: Gently warms the bed surface before the infant is placed, ensuring a ready environment.

This multi-mode control ensures the safest and most responsive temperature management for neonates.

Digital User Interface with LED/LCD Display

An intuitive digital display panel provides real-time readouts of:

  • Skin temperature

  • Set temperature

  • Heater power output (%)

  • Mode of operation

Large, high-contrast displays ensure easy monitoring, even in low-light environments like NICUs.

Even Heat Distribution with Parabolic Reflector Design

The parabolic reflector in the heating head ensures even distribution of radiant heat across the baby’s body, eliminating hot spots and ensuring consistent thermal coverage.

Integrated Apgar Timer

Built-in Apgar timer helps clinicians evaluate newborn health at 1, 5, and 10 minutes after birth, streamlining workflow during resuscitation and initial care.

PRE-CQM

Medilap ESU integrates advanced Patient Return Electrode or Contact Quality Monitoring (CQM) technology, which is designed to continuously assess and ensure the quality of the connection between the device’s active electrode and the patient’s tissue. This feature works in tandem with Smart Tissue Sensing Technology to optimize energy delivery and enhance the overall safety and effectiveness of electrosurgical procedures.
